Vocations Website Launch PDF Print E-mail

ImageOn Thursday evening in National Vocations Awareness Week, 9th August, an interested group of about 50 mostly young people attended the launch of this newly released website for Catholic Vocations Melbourne.

On arrive, those attending were given copies of the new brochures of various vocations released by Catholic Vocations for NVAM and a vocations lollipop, then Fr Denton demonstrated some of the features of the website.  He showed the links to websites for other vocations from the landing page, including Mens' and Womens' Religious, the Council for Marriage and the Family and the Permanent Diaconate, and then conducted a virtual tour through the melbournepriest.com website for the diocesan priesthood.

ImageFr Denton pointed out the video welcome message from Archbishop Hart, the link to the on-line viewing of the DVD Fishers of Men, the links to the World Youth Day and Days in the Diocese websites and other information.  He also demonstrated the many pages of news, articles, prayers, photographs and other items of interest.  To conclude Fr Denton opened one of the prayers from the website which everyone read together.

After thanking Matthew Price, the website designer, and the staff of the Vocations office, Fr Denton invited everyone to adjourn to the next room for supper.  We hope this site will be a source of information and inspiration for people about vocations in the Archdiocese of Melbourne.
